First off, 'Java' is not similar nor does it share a similar ancestry with 'Javascript'.

To answer the question, this service teaches you everything you need to start programming whatever you like! Of course, there are fine-tuned programming patterns and more advanced techniques, but after going through the lessons on you have the ability to do anything.

After gaining experience, the question moves from, "How do I store this variable?" to more advanced problems like, "How do I create a system where the data can get from the client to the server and back securely and optimally fast?" The hard part of coding is not looping over objects, its synchronizing multiple operations that need to happen and making it desirable for the end user.
