I learned C in 2003, way before the apps era.

C is sort of a subset of C++, but they are not the same thing. Even basic operations like input / output (reading / writing) are not identical. Granted, once you learn (some) C++ you should also manage to learn some C. Try the C++ course or switch to something else like Python.

C++ contain c and some techs
so learn C++ and it's OK
