Is it necessary to study GUI in java ??

Question

My goal is to start making android apps . Currently I'm learning java . I'm currently using eclipse as my IDE. I wanna ask that is it necessary to study gui in java or when I enroll to study java for Android there I will get concepts of GUI in android. Are the concepts of GUI in java is different from that of Android java ??? I have to study GUI in core Java or not ?? Totally Confused ?? :-(

GUI in Java(i.e Swing and JavaFx) is totally different from Android(there are of course negligible similarities)
