where can I download Linux for free

Most Linux distros are free. If you love hacking or pentesting you can install Kali Linux, or if you just want a Linux distro you can use as a normal working os you can install Ubuntu

there are multiple versions of linux, each slightly different. as mentioned above Kali has more tools for networking and hacking, Ubunto has more focus on professional use, and Mint has lot of extra goodies for user interface. I replaced window with linux mint at home, and am doing pretty good so far. but sometimes you have to find other software, because the one you are used to may not have a linux version. Gaming drivers tend to be a little behind as well.

just go to the distros website and download the .iso
