Try the course of SQL .
it's been a long since I used html extensively but I think it doesn't
deal with database unless there is something new with html5. PHP or any other scripting language does .

Here is a ´general course of SQL, how to work with databases. But these are only a SQL commands. Not described how can be called from any other programming languages. These are advanced techniques not described here in basic courses of those languages. So you have to learn from advanced books or internet sources.
But there is nothing about datababases in HTML. Because the HTML has forbidden access to any files. For security purposes.
So, better using a PHP to do it and generate results into html
