C++ is very different, there are both object oriented languages but C# forces you in a certain direction, however you can do pretty much whatever you want in C++ thus making it harder to learn

C# is basically a mixture of C++ and Java, but looks more like Java. It's also quite focused on Windows (it was developed by Microsoft) but you're not bound to that OS.

UNIX and Windows are both coded in C. You have to take into account though that C is a lot older than C#.

@bedawang it seems that you've never worked in c# :) . Maybe windowx xp was coded with c++ , but windows 10 is coded in c# .

@Dejan not entirely true, I don't know about the popularity, but here's something about the power: whatever OS you're on, they are all (mostly) coded in C++/C
