It's a difficult question and maybe it depends of your objectives ,however python, js and ruby are good options if you want to know basic programming concepts quickly, I started with C and C++ but a high level language will be more easy.

Well, to learn a language, it's better you go for c++ or java. But I suggest that you study python later. Because when you jump from c+ or java to python, you see python is at least two times easier!

I learnt c at 1st . then c++ . then here for python. I Recommend to start learning c . because if u learn easy program @ 1st then it would be tough enough to understand the new big programming languages like c++.

if you want to atart off learning the basic concepts of programming then I would suggest HTML5 because its really easy but if you want to learn something more practical try learning eather javascript or python. Most variations of C are good too.

Most programming languages are influenced by C. So in my opinion it's a good language for first. but you can begin with anyone.
