What is the future of Ruby and Rails?

Recently stack overflow rated ruby is slowing down interms of popularity among developers.
I am not sure whether its right place for such questions. Mainly I would like to know ruby's what feature or advantage over other languages keeps it in game?

In general terms Ruby has less popularity. I do not think the language and framework will disappear, but I think its use will continue (in the case of Rails) to decline until it is again attractive to developers

This happens mainly due to the rapid adoption that it had and is a problem that has also had several JS frameworks: they have a high popularity and then their use goes down as better solutions come out
