What is the purpose of the project(program) for the students and for future research?

I really don't know what to answer in my C++ class because my prof isnt teaching.

Then start doing it yourself. Take help from a book. And if you find difficulties in any topic, post your questions on any programming forum or website. You can do that even here. You can also watch videos of some particular topic on YouTube if you're not able to understand it from the book directly.

Then don't worry, it won't be a problem to pass it. Deal with it like other minor subjects. You don't have to go deep into the individual topics since it isn't your concerned subject. Just kinda skim through the topics if it helps. But I'll tell you one thing, programming is definitely fun to do and I know many people who have nothing to do with programming because some of them are doctors, etc. but they still enjoy doing it. So do give it a lil try. Maybe you will like it and it may become as one of your hobbies. If not, then I still don't think you will have much difficulties to pass it because C++ is comparatively easy as compared to many other languages. Hope you do find it interesting and pass with flying colors. All the best. :)
