Where to learn the complex part of coding?

I have learnt c ND c++ but the codes I know ND write are not remotely connect to the complex stuff I see online. so wer do I learn dis stuff.
the weird syntaxes, their uses and most importantly how does it help in functionalities?

have you considered helping open source projects? there are plenty of those so I'm sure you would find something interesting
