is c++ harder than java?

of course this could be a rather subjective question, but would you say that c++ is more challening than java? I am currently learning the latter and just dabbling a bit with the former, however, I may be interested to go deeper with this. curious to know your thoughts on this.

Both are kind of same but it's up to you which one you are taking easily. For me, I'd go with Java.

Java is easier to learn as it is more forgiving, if you make mistakes and the syntax is not as complex as in C++. Nevertheless, Java in practice is oftentimes used in web development for which extensive libraries exist. These libraries I found hard to work with.

if you lear c++ you would be able to learn any language because it s the hardest one, it combines the difficulties of c and it allows you to practice objet a d classes.

@alaa: Not any language... There's still assembler which is probably more difficult than the non-esoteric rest.

C++ it's harder just because it allows you to do lower level operations, expecially when talking about memory. I think c++ it's worth learning as first language, because if you learn c++ you will able to learn pretty much every other language, and c++ it's so powerful.
