How to start custom codes

Going through the different modules on SoloLearn has been very educational and fun. But someone online says that learning from SoloLearn is like learning your vocabulary from the dictionary. I’m learning new parts of the code, and what they mean. But I don’t know how to string these different parts and structure them in a way that they work for me. How do I practice to structure my own programs?

In Sololearn, you have the Code Playground at your disposal, where you can try out the codes you learn and play with them, modify or stack them up. But it might be more feasible to install a proper programming environment on your computer and practice there.
