QPython works fine, but is already a bit outdated and can be problematic when installing libraries. At least that's my experience with it.
I'd recommend PyDroid together with Ministro (a 3rd party application) to get a GUI support for Android -- kivy and pyQt. With that, even matplotlib works perfectly :)
