C++ has been my favorite language, since it's introduction. Anything can be done with it due to it's syntax and power. Kotlin is the first language I've seen that matches everything I love about C++, while making some things easier. It also prevents some of the nastiest problems you can get into with C++ by better tracking of possible data types generating compiler errors for mismatches C++ ignores. Kotlin does have a flaw as it generates bytecode and not true processor binary, but I no longer do embedded systems so it won't become an issue for me. There are still areas to explore before Kotlin becomes my favorite language, but it is well on it's way.
