What c++ compiler do you use?

What compiler for c++ do you prefer and for what purposes? Can exe use dll if they are compiled with different compilers?

I use code::blocks. You can download it with built in compilers and it's free. I think the windows compiler is called MinGW/GCC.

I'm just starting out with c++ so I only run console programs.
