Do I have ample amount of time in my hands?
After getting into college I discovered that there are people who are way better than me in a language that I was so proud of in high school. Moreover there are people who are really good at languages like Python and have contributed to a lot of open source projects. I can't help but get taken over by this inferiority complex that has started to emerge within me. I would be glad if people who have gone through this phase would help out a fellow 'coder' out here.

I'd say you should look at it the other way around. You'll meet people that you'd think are way better than you. Instead of feeling inferior and depressed, use that insecurity to strive even harder to be at par with their knowledge or even surpass them. Use them as motivation instead of feeling inferior.
Regarding time, as they always say, it's NEVER too late.

I strongly agree with Jonathan. Honestly speaking, it's good to have such people around you so you know what you're lacking of and keep improving yourself.
Otherwise it will give you a false sense of security if you surround yourself with people who's less knowledgeable than you and you'll find yourself in trouble when you step out of your comfort zone.
All the best to you!!! đđ

Yes I do try my best to take it competitively but I don't know why I loose motivation along the way. I'm trying my best to come back from it and will continue to strive to surpass them
