When is the Right time to move from Java to Kotlin

Just finished my java training (Not just referring to the Sololearn Java course), and I’m Itching to put my new Java skill to Use, but I am facing a dilemma. Your thoughts will be helpful. I’m contemplating whether to continue my path to Android Development, and atleast make 3 apps before switching to Kotlin just so my Java is put to Use, Or Just learn Kotlin first before moving to Android (will this help me skip any junk knowledge I might have picked up going from java to Android and back to kotlin?)

Honestly, doesn't matter which one you pick. They're interoperable with one another, so if you wanted to mix n' match the code, it'll still run. However, that's sloppy and not really recommended if it can be helped. Anyways, the point I'm making is that there really is no rush to switch over to Kotlin from Java, and there is no reason to stick with Java and not learn Kotlin. Both operate on the exact same platforms in the exact same way. I'd just do whatever seems less boring to you in the moment. Keep your momentum going and keep things exciting. That goes a long way.

I've been there too. .. maybe it's better to start putting your knowledge of Java into Android world and after you got a sense of basics. start learning kotlin for Android
