Saying it's irrelevant is insane. Since it illustrates basic understanding of the cmd shell. Would you install a Python interpreter to accomplish a single task that maybe within your grasp with the tools at hand? The answer should be no. In all cases, the less bloat means less potential exploits -- and Python has quite a history -- on your system. If you'll never need a specific software, avoid it. One definite way of knowing is batch scripting. It reflects what your system alone, as-is, is capable of without anything extra. This knowledge is irreplaceable power. (Much like shell scripting on *nixes). Batch is a quick learn, iirc, so it is worth the time.
