Should I learn it before Javascript?

Ruby is one of the more commonly used languages in startups used, by companies such as ProductHunt, Stripe and Twitter.

Ruby is generally used as a server side (backend) language which can be used for creating API's or static websites.

Which ever language you use, if you are building websites or web applications, you will likely need JavaScript anyway.
