You can use online compilers for this purpose. There is even an option to code using code playground in sololearn apps.

You used the Java tag. If you want something instead of Android Studio, AIDE allows you to develop apps on the phone itself. From the app description: "AIDE is an integrated development environment (IDE) for developing real Android apps directly on your Android device." It has step-by-step instructions, examples, etc. It also supports C++ which may help with Android Native Mode development.

The AIDE form play store has limited uses but if you want the full version which I have, just ask and I'll upload it
