Many companies advertise the perfect candidate. However, the odds of that person wanting a job aren't great because they are already working. Companies will eventually take whatever they can get as the timeframe for the job has started before the job even made it to an ad. It never hurts to try. They probably will ignore you to look at better matching candidates, but there will come a time that they need a body and will give you the chance to interview. At the interview, be honest. That is important to getting the job. They can tell if you don't know things you claim you do and will not take a chance on you. If your there, they are willing to take a chance on somebody they need to invest major training on. You will be judged on your natural intelligence, honesty, and personality.
