Why is "brown" in line 12 and my code extension in 9 and 10 line when output does not show anything?

I'm not sure if i understood your question but that's what i got from it.
Its because they're functions. You need to call them to activate them. meaning you should type "fido.color" to get the color. otherwise they're just there with no purpose.
