What degree u should take to become software engineer after 12th?

degree will get you nowhere(a recent study found that a big percentage of software engineers in india are not suitable for coding and development jobs).so i think most companies would be more selective in choosing their employees in 2-3 years.
Although you definitely need a degree to show that you have basic knowledge.maybe something like btech. or bca, mca, etc. you should really work on getting better at what you do. Make your profile on github learn vcs, learn to work in a team.

Degree isn't necessary to become software engineer. Skills are all you need.
Learn programming language and develop coding logics
Practice algorithms and learn data structure...
