Can your parents force you to leave oxygen? I'm betting on no, because it is in abundance all around you in most places that you exist. Similarly, C++ is not a course, it's not something you have to engage to in your journey through education in order to be considered a C++ practitioner. There are countless resource and links on the net in which you can polish your programming skills and to increase your knowledge in C++ programming. If you know it's your passion, merely dropping the course and focusing on Biology for now does not mean you are letting go of programming.

If you study what you love, you'll get good marks, as you mentioned. If you work at something you love, you'll be happier, you'll do better work, and you will be working in your favourite work longer, maybe the rest of your life. It's your life. (No disrespect to your parents.) You should do what you love to do.

The best thing is to talk with them and make them understand your case. And actually I do not think you can do much more. You should also give us a little more context about what you are currently studying and also if there is any particular reason why they want you to focus on that area.

Tell your parrents that programming is future and you can do much better in it. Maybe your parents don't know much about c++. but if you try to explain them then i am sure they will let you do so. I am from india too. I explained my parents that i want to be a programmer and they understood me. Plus a tip for you :- biology and c++ are just opposite. choose maths and physics instead :)

programming and coding in c++ or specially in other languages like Python or R applied to data science, genetics, health or biology is a nice way to study and apply both fields (coding and biology) to real world problems
