Buy domain permanently [OFF-TOPIC]

Hi, can i buy a domain name permanently? If so, where? Also I plan to use a raspberry pi to use as Server. What are the security flaws? I want to use it as a personal cloud storage and as a fun project and the domain as an investment...

@synorax thanks for your answer. I actually want to use as a personal cloud storage fĂŒr max. 10 people so I dont think the processing would be such a Problem. I'm more concerned about somebody hacking in. And i want to purchase the domain once that it's mine forever. Thanks for your answer though :)

Many places to buy domain names. Usually can pay monthly or annually. https://www.googleadservices.com/pagead/aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwiF8KDFy4naAhVWtsAKHeSYDKQYABAAGgJpbQ&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAESEeD2QswGOrKqnyavIt5TMEPP&sig=AOD64_1KN4bcG4rz2kQ-yTG26XLblPnQug&q=&ved=0ahUKEwi_7JfFy4naAhVEQ6wKHaYHDhEQ0QwIIw&adurl= https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.register.com/register-domain-names.rcmx&ved=2ahUKEwi_7JfFy4naAhVEQ6wKHaYHDhEQFjADegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw10eaePN5TUsUZFa6KmCMqp Using a Pi as a cloud server is probably not a great idea. The processing limitations would make it nearly impossible. Keep in mind that in cloud computing, you are providing software to users on your network. Each instance of a user running a program will use significant resources. This is usually done by using RAID array storage and fault tolerance devices, etc. A Pi would not scale up that large easily or cheaply.
