it depends on what you want to program. HTML is a language to make websites. java an C++ are both languages to make programs, and each has advantages and also disadvantages. java is used more for mobile applications like apps for android devices while C++ is used usually for desktop programs and games for Windows. (portability vs. efficiency). but these differences can be discussed somewhere else or you can also search on the internet. i don't know python, so i can't tell you something about that.
html: websites
java: mobile apps
C++: programs for desktop pcs and laptops
(note: that is only the usual way, if you want, you can use them in other ways, too.)

i agree to.what peter said. But i think windows applicatioms nowadays more move to C# using the .Net framework,.especially for business apps. C++ is oftenconsidered to dangerous because you can mess up pretty well, thete is not that mucg protection from doing bullshit like there is in java or c#. but c++ is used for performance critical stuff where it is useful if you can manage memory manually,, eg game engines or audio / video editing programs

python is just a scripting language, it can be used to automate tasks or write plugins. as well you can create gui applications with pyqt or games with pygame, but i do not.think you build really large apps with python
