why someone gain xp more than someone else after the same course?

what determines how much xp we can gain

Like ALTernative said, those extra XP in a course come from challenges using that course as a weapon. XPs that come from badges do not apply to a specific course... If you look on my profile, I have about 7500XPs in Java. It is due to the 800+ challenges I have won in Java and 300+ I had a draw in...

Then overall you can see that I have almost 13 000XPs. The extra 6500 XPs comes from badges and the XPs from my other courses

It is determined by how well you answer the questions. If one person got everything right on the first try, while others took multiple tries, the first person will get the most XP.

So of I complete the python course with 500 xp. then I loose a bunch xp in challenges. it could say I have like 4 xp, but the course is complete.
