How many of you actually have a coding-related job?
I'm currently in an internship at a little web-development agency and even there I don't get to code a lot, most of the tasks are about customizations via CMS like wordpress or joomla. What about you?

I worked in the field from 1973 until 2 years ago. I'm now enjoying my retirement and sharing my knowledge. I did mostly C++ code for voicemail, telephone switches, networking, software development environment (multiuser IDE/version control), white hat hacking, and efficiency expert.

Akib Reza, I disagree completely. This app is for anybody. There are people of all ages here. I have seen people who are 10, and people far over 60. Thereโs no limit here and no minimum.

saantonandre My background is in Biology, but I keep running into programming related stuff, so in order not to outsource my work to others I am giving it a go, too. Programming community is excellent.

I do... I program robotics for aerospace manufacturing. Even if you don't get to write code much at your internships, I would find a way to write code every day.

I'm a chemist and I originally signed up here to learn python. I use pythonscripts (created by others) almost daily, I want to be able to create and modify them myself to evaluate data more effectively. Coding can be a really useful tool for those outside of the IT-business as well.
On a side note, earlier this week I stumbled upon a free "Try HTML + CSS" irl-course and it was fun so now I use SL to learn more about them as well, just because. Will try JS after that. Coding is a bit like drugs, I guess. One thing leads to another and suddenly you're addicted (but thankfully it's healthier than drugs).

Well, it being just your thought does not negate the fact that it is wrong. It also does not disqualify attempts to disagree to it, nor to prove it wrong. Also, nobody went overboard here.

I'm currently in my senior year of high school so I don't have a job, or even much experience with the computer science field - but as that is my intended major, I figured I should start learning the basics beforehand :)

Akib Reza Advanced users and proffs here on SL are a wonderful resource for beginners. They bring experience and knowledge. They answer questions, give examples and support. I learn just by reading their input. I very much appreciate their time here on SL.

This is a platform for beginners as far as i can tell. So, your question seems bit out of topic here.
Just my thought.
