is HTML the same as HTML5?

I have learnt HTML and now I am learning HTML5, but I am wondering if I can write HTML and HTML5 in the same document or if they have to be seperate? and is Sololearns HTML platform the same as HTML5?

Well technically, no. HTML could mean HTML 4 or HTML 5. It's a bit like car vs Volvo car, vs Audi car.

No, though HTML 5 is upgraded version of HTML /HTML 4 .HTML 5 brings lots of changes like audio-video being integral parts of html 5 but not in HTML 4. So, you will have to make separate documents for HTML 5 and html4.

They are the same in that both are html... but HTML5 has removed somethings that were present in previous versions and added a bunch of things... so while the basics of the language didn't change, there are new "words" to know. Hint: Learn HTML5, don't bother with older versions because they are older and going away.

Yeah, it's the same. 5 is just saying the version of html. That's the current version.
