How much is the similarity between Java and Javascript?

is it possible and easy to learn java script without any knowledge of java language ?

I know absolutely nothing about java but am picking javascript up pretty easily. I dont believe it will be any problem going straight for javascript

Java is a programming language incorporating OOPs concepts like Polymorphism , Inheritance , Method Overriding , Data Abstraction , Data Encapsulation etc

whereas

JavaScript is a scripting language i.e. it controls the behavior of the program like how the program responds to the given set of inputs or like how and what are the operations that will be performed in response to some user action.
