Give your opinion... Should small and medium sized businesses hire coders in house or outsource - why?

Business trends are fascinating. Less brick and mortar businesses surviving. Retail getting harder. Tourism has changed. What should a small business do now - knowing what you know as a coder?

interesting perspective Janet Jane - what about limited talent pool of people in some areas? Travelling can be costly. I do agree with the quality control challenge when you can't eye-ball someone and their work. Thanks for your view

Depends on the business situation, but if the company have it own programmers i don't see why they should hire someone outside, they must make sure their programmers are able to get the job done. Unless the company doesn't have it own developers.

In-House unless outsource travels. Am generally against out sourcing as it takes away from in-house and local areas and quality can be at times questionable.
