Is learning AI worth it

I feel like (from watching a deep learning tutorial), that'll you have to do a bunch of coding before you could get one accomplishment and that most people actually implementing AI are in a support group where each can work on their own part and get the desired result in like a week but with me I'm working alone.

Simple AI is worth learning.
If you have a refrigerator which makes a beep when its open, it has simple AI.
You can make things like that.
