Can we use property of function 1 in another function in a same program? If yes ...then how

i think u didnt understand my question..
In my question, i wll take variable in function 1 n den use dat variable in another function in a same program....
for e.g.
f1(x)= 2*x*x+3*x+4
f2(y)= 2*y*y+3*y+3
f3(x,y)= f1(x) - f2(y)
i mean like this dat i take funct1 n funct2 n use in funct3 as given in e.g.
