How is this app free?
I really love this app and have used it for so long... but the thing is I want to know how the creators of this app get any revenue and if they get some at all.

I think it's great that this app is free. Because it is a learning app. Everyone can join together to code together for free!!!

We kidnap people that ask too many questions and then hold them for ransom. You don't ask too many questions, do you? :)
I only joke. I've no clue what they do. There isn't ADs on the website version, so beats me. I don't remember what the mobile app version looks like.

Basically they're surviving off investors; like Twitter or Instagram does. They plan to monetize SoloLearn in the future, I suspect through more ads and referring programmers to companies (BOTH of those have happened, they're just subtle).
If they don't monetize then eventually Sololearn will go the way of Vine and die. SoloLearn is not a charity or non profit.

Valley VC Learn Capital led the round, joining a number of other unnamed private investors who have already backed SoloLearn.
