Personally, I'm doing the Py3 lesson right now and can say its definitely worth doing! With that being said though, it is one of the longer ones, so you will spend quite a bit of time on it. Hope this helps!

EDIT: Python is general purpose language - and as Flash said - PHP is great for Web Development. Depends on what you're aiming for.

If you are interested in web development than go for php and sql
Otherwise you can choose python for apps and game development
