HTML & CSS (no JavaScript)

I've just found this app and I am starting to learn HTML and CSS. I'm slowly getting there however, I haven't started on JavaScript yet. I have been inspecting other sites and seems these days all websites use JavaScript? or are you able to create great looking sites with HTML and CSS only? If yes does anyone know of some examples I can look at?

You can create good looking so called static websites using only HTML and CSS to introduce a business or something like that. However, if you want a more interactive website like a shop or a forum, then you need Javascript.
