Why are most Indians programmers?

Out of 10 Indian friends I know, 11 are programmers.
Here in Brazil there are not many programmers.

Marcus Xavierr it's true, India is better known for programmers then Brazil. But it might be just the case that all Indians you know from work or programming. In Brazil you grown up so you know just more 'regular' people;)
