Hello! How long does it take to become fluent in one language? Also, once you learn one language does it become easier or harder to learn another? Also, am I doing the right thing by learning Java for an android app?

Depends on the degree of your intelligence (or stupidity) it can take you two weeks or lifetime Its just determined by Yourself

Java has very big library once you start learning and practicing it you will found more fun Java is used in game development android development to create applets on networking, Java has divided in 3 part Java SE ,Java ME, Java EE
which is used for serverlet, applet, game development ect fields
advance Java is also used too handle the tool hadoop which is solution of big data in the clouds or networks so to expertise Java you need to invest your time and skills to learn all that things so it requires time
