Why is turbo c++ so popular?

I see posts here all the time where people are using turbo c++, even though it hasn’t been maintained since 2009 and doesn‘t support any modern features.

As Scooby pointed out, Indian schools are, in fact, the only reason why TCC isn't dead. Quite infamous, I'd say. https://www.quora.com/Why-is-Turbo-C++-still-being-used-in-Indian-schools-and-colleges

sathviksolleti Well, I have bad news for you. It does not "work on all the operating systems". In fact, it is the programming language with the least compability scope, at this point.

Charan LEo25 i think you faced some that type teacher which you explain.. but i know some good teacher they have lot knowledge around and out of books.. i really respect them.. and talking about %.. its not varies to profession.. i had seen such senior some have 90% score but move to teacher as they love teaching.. and some had bellow 80% but they had superb knowledge in programming..

Getting a job in an IT company doesn't show competence. If I may point out, TCC is the worst language you can choose to actually gain insight to any form of programming theory. If that's the case, might as well teach pseudocode.

It is amazing that Turbo C++ is still popular, but then again, many people still use Windows XP long after it has been put to rest by Microsoft. You must ask yourself: are you learning programming just for fun or to create some real working application? If it is for fun, then it's ok to play around with the unsupported and outdates Turbo C++. But if you are real deal, you should never bother yourself with obsolete things which only confine your ability to work in modern systems. Turbo C++ are things of the past. There are many better compilers out there.. (btw, I used to love Turbo C++. I joined SL initially just to re-learn C++. Eventually, I learn MANY other things^_^)

Used and used it became more familiar for us. Its too simple to understand and shows the errors made in the program. Although it has been stopped by the company not getting updates and all many are habituated to still use it.It also works on all the operating systems 🖥️🖥️(Microsoft os)
