Would a sololearn course prepare me for an actual certification test of said language?

Depends on the level of said certification test. Java OCA certification exam? Not enough. You will need to rely on external resource and your own practice.
SoloLearn is more of a place where you kickstart your programming journey, at least for now.

no it will not, the quizes are aimed for beginnners.
the certificates are for fun, they will not help you get work.
