I'd say learn both! Java tends to be used a little more in the industry but C is the foundation for a lot of the modern programming languages we have today! In my opinion learning C first would be smart. It can be tough but I know it has definitely helped have an easier time of getting a grasp on c based languages. Its kind of like the Latin of the programming world. Good luck! :)
