What is the use of octal

i m a beginner coder can anyone tell me pls

There was more usage in the past (70's & 80's) as super computer hardware architectures had 15 and 18 bit instructions plus 30 and 60 bit addressable units. These all used octals instead of hex because they were multiples of 3 bits not 4. By the 90's, 8 bit bytes and multiples of 8 bits became the norm.

certain things are better written in the octal system, however hexadecimal is used a lot more.

I don't know a use of it, but if you combine 3 bits, you basically get the octal system for free. Since you have all 8 numbers from 000 = 0 to 111 = 7
