I started directly with Python and feel it's no problem. There may be complicated aspects, but you don't have to start with them. You learn the basics along the way!

Whatever C concept might be used in Python, you can just learn that by learning Python directly. Just because there are words of Latin origin in French you don't need to start with Latin. ;-)
