Noob question but how do I get the link to my private code in the app?

Down here, where you type your answer, there is a gray circled plus next to the send arrow.
Tap on it, tap on "insert code", another window opens (code section) where you can choose your code. Done

You can't unless the owner shares it with you. That is the point of 'privacy', to provide restricted access.
