can i use Android studio offline? If 'yes' then how?

i was trying to start using Android studio in offline mode but everytime it shows "gradle sync error" when i run the app.

You will need net connection to download missing libraries and update the gradle, plugins, other IDE components. Once you've properly set up your first project, you can use it offline.
