Using WordPress is like using templates, you could only "customise", not "invent/create". Meaning you are only limited to what it Provides, however if you learn Html, CSS, JS, there's no limit to what you can create

Good question. I like using HTML because the WordPress sites I've implemented all have latency issues (and are often lacking in personality). WordPress sites are great for when you have clients who don't have latency requirements and don't have a specific layout in mind, so then you just pick about a dozen and ask which they like best. Other than the latency issues, it can be hard to get some WordPress templates to accept your overrides (say your client likes mostly everything but wants a couple of things to be just slightly different). If they still want the WordPress back end but the template writes over your overrides and you can't get the template creator to respond in a timely manner, you can kiss your retainage goodbye. Also, have you ever tried to run the generated code from some of these WordPress sites through a validator? I about fainted when I saw most of the issues were due to missing closing tags. Anyway, that's my rant/opinion. â˜ș
