the basic thoritical diff. is scripting languages are interpreter orientated .and programing languages are compiler orientated.

i have a conclusion of my reading that a scripting language is one that uses less features to make the light weight language to do simple task. like java script but with time it becomes most versetile programing language.

and html and css are markup language not scripting language.

LONGTIE FOX html and css are markup languages, therefore they do not contain any instructions for the cpu, rather they are stores of data that can be accessef by another program.

a scripting language is a type of programming language. there is bo difference other than one is compiled and one is a text file which is executed by the interpreter.

btw scripting languages are not more lightweight, quite the opposite...
