Why do they only teach java in schools?

In my school and in many others they only teach java instead of c++ etc. why is it so?

Probably because it's easier to learn as it does certain things for you like automatic memory management (no need to keep track of pointers). Keep in mind also that universities and high schools are a bit out of touch with reality (i.e. the job market). I had to take extra classes in C and C++ because they were not offered in the main CS program.

It solely depends on the country itself, mine only teaches C++ .
