File Permission

Question

I took a hard drive out of my old computer and hooked it up to my new computer. I would like to get all my files out of one of the directories. I can do this 1 file at a time changing the security permissions, but I want to change them all at once.

I can write a script to open a directory and iterate thru each file in it, I was just wondering if there was a python ability to change file permissions.

is there a way? or even a non coding way to accomplish this?
