Bootstrap vs Material Design?

Bootstrap is more popular and it is required for some jobs. But Material looks better in my opinion. So, it's better to know both of them. I recommend you to learn Bootstrap first.

First you should specify what framework you refer to when you say 'Material Design' (Material Design Lite, Materialize, etc). On the other hand, the comparison between CSS frameworks in most cases only reflects the personal tastes of the person who establishes it or the guidelines that the person follows, unless you want a particular predetermined style.

do you mean material UI? anyways bootstrap is so frequently used that I don't think you should use it if you want a new/unique design.
